We just purchased an SUV recently and bought this to get the snow off the top of the vehicle. I'm now wondering why I didn't buy this sooner?! I've always cleaned my cars off with the combo snow brush/windshield scraper. What used to take me 10 minutes now takes me about 3. We just had a decent snow this past weekend (~6 inches of dense, wet snow). I used this to push/pull the snow off the SUV roof, windshield, and hood. I then used it to push all the snow off of our second car. I was done (and inside with my hot chocolate) in no time. I feel dumb for ever using anything BUT the Snobrum. If it snows where you live, don't think twice about getting this.

Life. Changing. I live in Alaska. We get some snow here. =) Regular snow brushes (the kind with the scraper at one end that you see everywhere) are woefully inadequate much of the time. In the past I've used a regular broom that you'd use for sweeping, but either the bristles are so stiff that scratching the paint is an issue or they are too soft and get all flayed out with use. Then I learned that this SnowBrum was a thing! This is my first winter with it and I've used it for a few snows so far. It works so fast to clear off every inch of the car! They foam end is lighter than a broom so it's less exhausting to use. The foam doesn't scratch your paint. Because this doesn't do well the fine details, like that patch on the side mirror arm and the snow in the door cracks that will fall in your seat when you open the door, I finish off the job with my regular snow brush. Note that this SnoBrum isn't ideal for storing in the car even when the handle is collapsed. It takes up a lot of space and is awkward to store when it's assembled (and it snows way to often here for me to have the patience to screw on the head every time I need it. I use this at home only and keep a regular snow brush in the car. If a big snow dump is expected while I'm at work, I will bring it just for that day. I can't believe I've lived in Alaska and never heard of this thing before a couple months ago. Now I am telling everyone they need one! Was this review helpful for you? If so, please click the "Yes" button below. If not, feel free to let me know why and I'll do my best to improve it. :)

I bought this to replace an older original SnoBrum I had for 15 years. I accidentally bought a different one that had a shorter length and its a huge hassle. I think 27" is a good size so you can push all the way across the hood/roof much faster. I have not had this problem yet but in my previous one the head of the broom had a tendancy to spin when I was using it but you can simply wrap some layers of plumbers tape around the threads and it will hold much better. In New England I would never not have a SnoBrum in my car. Its much better for clearing large amounts of snow than just a brush but you should still keep a traditional ice scraper in your car as this will not be good for breaking that off.

Why did I not get one of these sooner? Lightweight, easy to use, clears off my SUV in no time. Only good for the 'fluffy' snow, not the icy stuff, but makes life so much easier if you live in a snowy region. Far faster clean off than the ice-scraper brushes I used before, far less stretching to angle into the high/weird spots that can be tough to reach without one. After a season of use (and many snowfalls, some small, some HUGE), mine barely looks used, the foam is pretty sturdy if you're reasonably careful with it. I especially love it for cleaning off the top of my SUV. This makes it easy and fast the ensure my roof is clear from any dangerous chunks of snow that could fly off my car while I'm driving and become a hazard to others on the road. Just a bunch of swipes and I'm good to go there. It takes me roughly 1/4 of the time to clear my car with this as opposed to one of the tradition brushes. I love this thing so much, I plan to buy more for gifts for my family for the holidays next year.

I live in South Lake Tahoe and so far this March we have had two hard hitting blizzards already dumping 3-5’ of snow overnight. When you have even six inches of snow on your car, those ice scraper brushes are useless. I’ve tried multiple snow pusher designs like this, but this one by far is the winner. It’s no frills and doesn’t have a pivoting handle like some (which is the part that always breaks on those ones), but you don’t need it. Get an ice scraper and this together and you are ready to clean your car off from the worst winter storm in record time. Good luck not having to loan it out to 30 coworkers when they see you use it though!

I've seen several reviews about the telescoping handle not working. I had no problem with my handle working properly. The handle is a little hard to extend but I would imagine that with use it will get easier. I bought his product because I work at a large resort and have been using the Sno Brum for several years to clean off guests vehicles. The Sno Brum will not scratch your paint. Highly recommended.

these things are great. you can easily clear a good few inches of snow off a car in a matter of seconds. i recently had a snow storm while i was at work, and i and a few co-workers went out to clear our cars. i offered to let a friend use my snow pusher, but she didn't seem to understand the necessity of it, so she refused. she tried to use a snow brush thing and was struggling while i finished in less than 2 minutes, after which she asked to use it. basically what i'm saying is that people look at it weird until they see you use it and realize they want one.

This thing is amazing. I have no idea how I survived 15 years as a driver in snowy Utah without a SnoBrum. Earlier this month, we had a good six or eight inches of snow fall over the course of a couple days. I went out to clear off the snow before work with my regular old brush-and-scraper device and was wiped out by the time I got halfway done with the front windshield (I have terrible cardio). I called in sick, went back inside and immediately ordered a SnoBrum. The next storm came around, dumping another six inches. I gave myself 15 minutes to clean off the windows enough that I could see (I’m an irresponsible snow driver). With the SnoBrum, I was able to clear the entirety of my car in three minutes. Windows, roof, hood and trunk: All cleared. I was amazed. I was able to plop the head of the SnoBrum down on the other side of my car and drag - either by pushing or pulling - huge chunks of snow off the car with very little effort (I didn’t even break a sweat despite my terrible cardio). It was shockingly easy. Thanks to the SnoBrum, I spent the rest of the day in an amazing mood because I’d discovered a miracle. The SnoBrum is best used for removing snow from the flat surfaces of the car. Smaller areas like the mirrors won’t work as well, so you’ll still need to use that brush-and-scraper for the finishing touches, but this does most of the work. I can’t comment on the longevity because I’ve only had the thing a couple of weeks. The “brum” part is made of a light styrofoam and the device itself is very lightweight, so I don’t think it’ll survive a zombie apocalypse or anything, but it feels durable enough to handle a reasonable amount of wear and tear. The device itself is so great that even if it were to break easily, I’d just buy a new one. The effort saved is worth the cost.

There are snow removers to use on my car and there is this SnowBrum Original Snow Removal Tool with a 27” extendable handle. I have used my hands, mostly with gloves to knock snow off of my car, when I was home or away from home. In the best cases, when I was smarter, wearing winter gloves. I shudder when I see people putting snow shovels on the hood or top of their cars. Got my original SnoBrum a few years back, but when moving things around in the garage, during the summer, I noticed that the blue face was being dragged around on the floor. I was reluctant to then use in on my car, since it could be like sandpaper, so I was glad to find a new one on Amazon. I carry one around in my trunk when I am smart. It has also been very strongly suggested that I return it to the garage so everyone can use it. That of course would be counter productive, since after all, I would not have it in my trunk when away from home. I would be right back to jumping in the air and knocking snow off of the roof of my car. You would probably be watching me and shaking your head wondering why I did not have a SnoBrum with me. So, I am ordering a second one and maybe a third. That way I not only save you the embarrassment of watching me jump up again and again. Painfully removing the snow. Keeping one in my car, I can offer the tool to others who I see jumping up and down waving their arms and their hands. It does not take long for someone to ask me where I got it. There are days, where I become a walking advertisement for Amazon. Save yourself, buy this tool. Hope this helps

I live in New England and I've had a Sno Brum over four years. Just the other day a storm dumped 10+ inches of snow, the snow was heavy with sleet mixed in. There wasn't much wind so there was a good amount of snow on top of the cars. The collapsible handle that came with my sno brum is a simple twist and tighten/loose, move both halves closer or farther away for more reach. You have to make sure to tighten the handle or it could collapse. I just give it one good twist before my hands get wet and don't have that problem anymore. I have a midsize sedan and a minivan, I only had 30 minutes to clean both cars before I had to get ready for work. I was done so fast I even had time to clean the neighbor's car!!. I'm careful when I remove the snow from the cars, but at the same time the purpose is to remove the snow from the top of your vehicle so there is a certain amount of force you have to use ... I just don't go all gangbusters on the paint job and haven't had any issues. The only negatives are, you won't be able to clean between the windshield wipers or door handles, you will need to use a brush or your hand :o) The handle could collapse if is not tight enough, but those are really minor issues IMO and you can get around it, for example when I use the sno brum, if the snow is really heavy I pull the heaviest of the snow towards me and push the lighter snow away from me. After six years the Sno Brum still works and is one of the best snow removal tool s I have ... and when it breaks, because things do, I will definitely buy another one. **UPDATE** June 2015 2014-2015 winter in Massachusetts was a long record breaking winter. It was the coldest winter in Boston history and as of March 4, 2015 the second snowiest winter at 105.7 inches … just a few inches short of tying the all time record. I continued using our Snow Brum thought the winter and not only was it extremely helpful removing tremendous amounts of snow from both vehicles it is still in one piece and fully functional. I will go on and say that this is not one of the best snow removal tools I own but the BEST hands down!!
